The Insulation and Energy Absorption Mechanism of Safety Ropes
Safety ropes used for live-line work must possess reliable insulating properties. They are used in conjunction with energy absorbers (shock-absorbing lanyards), which are designed to tear apart in a controlled manner during a fall to dissipate energy, limiting the impact force on the human body to below 6kN and thereby minimizing injury.
